What is a spinster anyway?  As a woman in her late thirties who has never been married there are many things I have learned, and many I have left to learn.  There is however one thing that has remained a constant, and that is the knowledge that society considers it not "normal" for a woman to remain single for that long after they reach adulthood.  Is this reasonable in what we view as such an advanced time?  I say NO!  Does this make me a spinster?  By the accepted definition, yes.  In my opinion whether I am or am not a spinster does not matter, what matters is making the most out of the life I find myself living.  I believe I can have and do things many people only view as options for married women, I just need to work out the logistics.
